Thanks to the Daily News, reporter Monica Spees & photo editor/photographer Miranda Pederson for the awesome writeup about the Bowling Green International Festival found here: http://www.bgdailynews.com/news/bowling-green-international-festival-puts-many-cultures-on-display/article_e747cc6e-8b6c-5d9a-8674-36a222746dd0.html?mode=story

Ms. Spees spent time talking to some of our local performers and finding out what the festival meant for them.  Ms. Pederson caught some beautiful shots of performers, all of whom happen to be Bowling Green community members.  Including a particularly gorgeous shot of Rachana Pasupuleti.  Rachana who is 13 has been dancing at the festival since 2009 when she was 8 years old and is always one of the performers for which we receive the most compliments.

Other performers featured in the article/photography include the Karen culture portion of the Burmese communities’ dances which also include Karenni, Zomi and Burmese cultures which have been performing for 4 years; the WKU Saudi Club which perform on occasion and one of our new groups, ARIKY Group (Association of Rescue and Intervention of KY), which is a local Congolese dance ensemble formed by Faustine Kaganda, a professional choreographer from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The Daily News has long been a media sponsor of the event.  Our success wouldn’t be possible on our limited budget without the generosity of businesses like the Daily News (bgdailynews.com) and their entertainment publication, bgamplifier.com who inform the public about the event.
